Finnish President Alexander Stubb has embarked on a two-day official visit to Luxembourg focused on reinforcing bilateral ties and cooperation on European matters. Upon arrival on Tuesday, Stubb and his wife were greeted with military honors outside the Grand Ducal Palace. The couple then met with Luxembourg’s Grand Ducal couple and participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the eternal flame, honoring those who died in service.
The visit includes meetings with key Luxembourg officials, such as President of the Chamber of Deputies Claude Wiseler, Prime Minister Luc Frieden, and Deputy Prime Minister Xavier Bettel. These discussions are anticipated to center on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing current European affairs.
Throughout his visit, President Stubb will also engage with European institutions, highlighting the collaboration between Finland and Luxembourg. This includes scheduled visits to the European Investment Bank and the European Court of Justice.
On Wednesday, President Stubb’s agenda features a visit to the University of Luxembourg’s Belval campus and the SES headquarters in Betzdorf. These visits underscore the importance of academic and economic cooperation between the two nations.
